HKSAR Chief Executive Lee said the APEC finance ministers’ meeting, held in Hong Kong Kong for the first time and convening this afternoon (20th), is organized by China’s Ministry of Finance and hosted by the HKSAR government. He thanked the central government for its trust and for reaffirming Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre, and said the meeting — the final ministerial session ahead of next month’s APEC leaders’ informal summit in Shenzhen — is a high-level opportunity for Hong Kong to leverage its financial expertise, present its economic and social development, and promote its role as a Greater Bay Area hub linking national and international opportunities.
