At the opening of the 2026 North Bund International Shipping Forum on Oct. 20, the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission and the Hong Kong SAR Transport and Logistics Bureau signed a strategic cooperation memorandum to further promote high‑quality, coordinated development of Shanghai–Hong Kong shipping. The memorandum focuses on five areas: smart port construction, green shipping energy application, collaboration on high‑end shipping services, joint professional talent training, and industry technical exchange and sharing. It calls for a regular coordination and consultation mechanism and project‑based implementation to drive cooperation into concrete deliverables.
