On Oct 20 a large number of users reported payment failures on Taobao. At order
confirmation many saw the message "Platform discount amount has changed; please
return and reconfirm discount information"; some users could not complete
payment and coupon statuses were abnormal. Taobao customer service attributed
the issue to heavy traffic during a major promotion, advised users to try again
later and apologized for the inconvenience.
