Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi, in an interview with Iraqi Al Ekhbariya TV, also addressed the possibility of Egypt joining Saudi Arabia in the fight against the Houthis. Araqchi stated, "Any external intervention would further complicate the situation." He added that Egypt had previously indicated to Iran that it would not directly intervene in the Yemeni conflict. Egypt had previously expressed its willingness to provide Saudi Arabia with the support it needs to maintain its security, which could further escalate tensions in the Middle East. The Egyptian parliament was originally scheduled to vote on whether the country's army might take military action against the Houthis, but the vote has been postponed to October 26.
