China will build about 30 such centers during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and establish a national service network to support small and medium-sized enterprise innovation and development.

State Council Information Office said at an Oct 20 press briefing that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is studying and drafting policy measures for a new generation of intelligent manufacturing to accelerate deeper integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing. MIIT plans to leverage China’s active AI innovation and rich manufacturing use cases and will focus on four priorities: phased cultivation of smart factories, development of intelligent equipment, accelerated R&D and deployment of intelligent technologies, and deeper international cooperation on intelligent manufacturing.

UBTECH (09880.HK) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Ras Al Khaimah Government International Relations Office to establish a cooperation framework for humanoid-robot R&D, field testing and system deployment for the Gulf region. Under the agreement UBTECH will deploy humanoid robot products in Ras Al Khaimah and send engineering teams to run on-site demonstration projects, stress-test automation solutions in routine and harsh environments and collect operational data. The partnership is aimed at strengthening Ras Al Khaimah’s high-tech R&D capacity and supporting development of an Emirati robotics ecosystem.
