US officials said presidential envoy Witkoff will meet Russian President Putin on Oct. 21; Kushner will join by video. The US said prior consultations with Ukraine and European partners covered a comprehensive peace framework, including security guarantees, and that Ukraine has tabled new proposals which were discussed in detail. At the working level the US, Ukraine and Europe have reached a high degree of consensus on next steps, and the US plans to take those proposals into further discussions with Russia.
