China Coast Guard spokesman Jiang Lue said on Oct 21 that, with Chinese permission, Philippine vessels delivered supplies to their illegally grounded ship on Ren'ai Reef (Second Thomas Shoal). The coast guard said it queried, confirmed and supervised the operation throughout, and will continue to conduct lawful rights‑protection and law‑enforcement activities in the Spratly Islands and adjacent waters, including Ren'ai Reef.
