CATL said this evening it repurchased 3.4886 million shares for 800 mln yuan,
taking cumulative buybacks in the current program to 4.607 bln yuan. In its Q3
2026 results the company reported revenue of 165.221 bln yuan, up 58.58% YoY,
and net profit attributable to parent of 21.246 bln yuan, up 14.54% YoY;
single-quarter profit growth was slightly below market expectations. Brokers
cited product-mix shifts and a tax-rate adjustment as the main drivers of the
quarter’s weaker-than-expected profit trend but said these are temporary and do
not change medium-to-long-term demand for the lithium-battery industry. Goldman
Sachs said the market has overestimated industry downside and underestimated
CATL’s resilience as the global lithium-battery leader. Firms note fundamentals
remain intact, with new growth curves in energy storage and battery swapping,
and say the stock’s lower valuation makes it an attractive allocation for some
investors.
