The Kremlin said President Putin told a U.S. special envoy on Wednesday he
"agreed in principle" to resume trilateral peace talks among Russia, Ukraine and
the United States around Nov. 10, possibly in Abu Dhabi, Reuters and Axios
reported. The envoy held about three hours of talks with Putin in St. Petersburg
and delivered an updated proposal to end the conflict; former Trump adviser
Jared Kushner joined by video. The envoy said progress at Oslo talks supports
restarting trilateral negotiations and involving technical experts on specific
issues, and handed Putin several documents on a peaceful settlement. Putin also
proposed discussing a potential Russian mediation role between the U.S. and
Iran, citing decades of mutual trust and offering assistance to resolve the
current crisis.
