The Three Gorges reservoir rose to its normal storage level of 175 meters on the afternoon of the 22nd, the Ministry of Water Resources said. This is the 15th time the reservoir has reached full pool and marks completion of the annual storage task for the upstream Yangtze reservoir system centered on Three Gorges. Effective storage in the basin’s controlling reservoirs has again exceeded 100 billion cubic meters, providing a solid base for water supply, irrigation and ecological functions through this winter and next spring.
