An Israeli newspaper citing people familiar reported Israeli military officials
provided US counterparts intelligence saying Hamas does not intend to disarm and
is rebuilding forces in Gaza to prepare for renewed full‑scale conflict. The IDF
assesses Hamas has repaired its tunnel network and bolstered weapons stockpiles
in areas it still controls; it estimates Hamas fields about 30,000–40,000
members, roughly its size before Oct. 7, 2023, and security agencies judge Hamas
has reasserted effective control in Gaza.
