According to sources familiar with the matter, Chinese nickel producers in Indonesia are considering halving their mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) production and cutting nickel pig iron (NPI) production by 20%. Executives from Tsingshan Holding, Zhongwei Cobalt, Lygen Resources, Huayou Cobalt, and GEM Co., Ltd. met on Tuesday to discuss the production cuts. No final decision has been made on the plans, and company executives are assessing production levels and consulting with shareholders.
