Meta Platforms (META.O) said in a Thursday filing it has agreed to roughly $825 billion of future lease and contract spending, much of it for AI compute and related infrastructure. Off‑balance‑sheet operating and finance lease assets total $355.7 billion, including data‑center and energy infrastructure leases beginning from the remainder of this year through 2036. As of Sept. 30 the company held $454.5 billion of irrevocable short‑ and long‑term contracts, many with third‑party cloud compute providers, data‑center energy agreements or tied to Reality Labs consumer hardware. Meta is also obligated to buy up to $14.7 billion of cloud compute over five years; that amount may decline if cloud providers resell the capacity to other customers.
