Oct 23 — China foreign minister Wang Yi, speaking at the 2026 Global Governance
Forum in Xiong'an, told visiting Asia Society co-chair Thornton and New York
Times columnist Friedman that China advocates inclusive, benevolent AI
development. He said China and the US, as leading AI nations, have the ability
and responsibility to jointly develop and manage AI, ensure human control,
prevent risks, and cooperate on globally applicable rules and standards to align
AI with shared prosperity and security.
