Following release of the consultation draft of the Measures to Protect Rights of Workers in New Forms of Employment, seven platforms on Oct. 22 — Meituan, Taobao Flash Sale, SF Intra-city, ZTO Express, Caocao Taxi, T3 Mobility and Didi — issued a joint initiative to promote participation of gig workers in basic medical insurance. The platforms said they will protect gig workers’ medical-insurance rights through five specified measures.

In under two months, the measures have sharply hit Iran’s oil revenue chain: the shadow tanker fleet has been degraded, major export terminals are largely empty and floating oil storage at sea has been drawn down. Bessent said ordinary Iranians face a worsening economic crisis as Tehran diverts resources overseas, and that with President Trump implementing actions long delayed by predecessors the U.S. is moving from merely countering the Iranian threat to seek its elimination.
