On UN Day (Oct. 24) Prime Minister Carney said Canada will fulfill the UN’s
mission and uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, adding that
those principles are more important than ever. He cited an intensifying climate
crisis, rapid AI development and armed conflicts undermining regional stability,
and said multilateral cooperation is no longer optional — no country can tackle
these challenges alone.
