A US source and an Israeli source say Prime Minister Netanyahu, fighting for
political survival ahead of Tuesday's election, has pressed US President Trump
for increased public support. The US source said the White House views
Netanyahu’s aggressive lobbying as a “sign of desperation” and believes it
signals he knows he is trailing. The US source said Netanyahu spoke to Trump
twice in the past three days and asked him to reinforce last week’s support post
on Truth Social, even drafting suggested wording. The Israeli source said
Netanyahu proposed Trump call Israeli journalists to express further backing.
