On Oct 25 Trump said US-Russia-Ukraine tripartite talks on Ukraine will take place "very soon" but gave no timetable and said he believes both sides want a deal. Russia and Ukraine on Oct 23 confirmed they agreed to a ceasefire from Oct 27 in Aleshki in Kherson region. A US official said the three-way talks could be held within two weeks in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland. Putin said any talks would focus on how to secure Russia-Ukraine safety after a peace agreement; Zelenskiy said he hopes a leaders' summit will follow.
