Fifty percent of Americans oppose building data centers within about 3 miles (4.8 km) of their homes — the highest opposition POLITICO has recorded and nearly double January’s 28% — and voters are now more likely to oppose candidates who support such projects; ten months ago proponents held a slight advantage.
