Oct 26 — When asked whether China would send senior officials or a delegation to
the ASEAN defense ministers' expanded meeting starting Wednesday in Manila,
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said the forum should deepen dialogue,
build trust and promote cooperation, and that China opposes any actors abusing
public institutions to hijack ASEAN and create disruption.
