ANTHROPIC said in its S-1 filing that compute — the processing power provided by chips and other hardware — is a key constraint. The company warned that if it cannot secure sufficient compute, or cannot allocate compute effectively across workloads, it may be unable to train models that remain competitive or fully serve customers. Anthropic said it is paying providers including SpaceX for compute capacity but expects demand to exceed supply in the near term.
