Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that Iran has a reasonable viewpoint: if the United States genuinely desires a fair agreement through negotiations, it must fulfill certain conditions. Fulfilling these conditions demonstrates their desire for an agreement; failing to do so indicates a lack of intent. Deception exists in diplomacy because everyone seeks to gain more; however, it is crucial that the United States has demonstrated over the past year and a half that its diplomacy is based on deception. All parties engaging in dialogue with us accept this logic and have indicated that the United States must demonstrate its seriousness.
