Public voting in Israel's 26th Knesset election began Oct 27 at 07:00 local time
(13:00 Beijing). The Israeli Central Elections Committee reported about 7.3 mln
eligible voters and more than 12,000 polling stations; polling is open for a
single day from 07:00 to 22:00. Official results are scheduled for Nov 4. Israel
uses proportional representation: 120 seats allocated by vote share, a 3.25%
threshold to enter the Knesset, and 61 seats required to form a government. No
single party has ever won an outright majority; coalition government is the
norm.
