At a Mississippi rally Monday, Trump called the twice-annual clock change
“ridiculous” and said it “drives everyone crazy,” urging the Senate to move to
permanent daylight saving time. The Sunshine Protection Act passed the House
earlier this year but remains stalled in the Senate. Absent action, most of the
U.S. will revert to standard time on Nov. 1 (this Sunday), moving U.S. financial
market hours and the timing of economic data releases one hour later than during
daylight saving time.
