U.S. stocks opened with the Dow Jones Industrial Average nearly flat, the S&P 500 up 0.3%, and the Nasdaq up 0.47%. General Motors (GM.N) rose 3.3% as its shares are scheduled to transfer from the NYSE to the Nasdaq on November 17. Boeing (BA.N) fell 2.5% after reporting a larger-than-expected Q3 loss. S&P Global (SPGI.N) rose 4.7% after better-than-expected Q3 results. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1.4%.
