The Gas Exporting Countries Forum held its 8th summit at the Moscow
International Trade Center on the 27th and issued the Moscow Declaration,
reaffirming members' absolute, inviolable sovereign rights over national natural
resources. The declaration underscores natural gas as an important energy source
and strategic feedstock and describes member states as reliable suppliers
contributing to global energy security. It expresses deep concern that
geopolitical developments are harming the stability, security and sustainability
of global gas markets and firmly opposes unilateral sanctions not authorized by
the UN.
