SK Hynix reported quarterly operating profit of KRW83.3 trillion for the quarter
to September (consensus KRW76.7 trillion) and revenue of KRW104.6 trillion
(consensus KRW98.3 trillion), both single-quarter records; quarterly profit rose
more than sevenfold YoY. The company said it will implement an additional KRW100
trillion (~$75bn) shareholder return program in 2026. Operating margins remain
at elevated, historic levels amid tight supply. SK Hynix expects memory-chip
supply shortages to persist through 2030, citing rising technical difficulty at
advanced process nodes and long lead times for new fabs that constrain near-term
supply expansion. It sees near-term demand driven by enterprise and consumer AI
adoption and mid-to-long-term growth from physical-AI applications such as
autonomous driving and robotics.
