At midday closing, most domestic futures contracts rose, with ethylene glycol (EG) up over 5%, synthetic rubber, polypropylene (monthly average), asphalt, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) up over 3%, polypropylene up nearly 3%, and coking coal and alumina up over 2%. On the downside, lithium carbonate fell over 4%, caustic soda fell over 3%, fiberboard fell over 2%, container shipping to Europe fell nearly 2%, and palladium and pulp fell nearly 1%.
