China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported telecom sector
ran stably in Jan–Sep 2026. Telecom service revenue totaled 130 mln yuan in the
first nine months, down 2.5% YoY; telecom service volume at constant last-year
prices rose 7.3% YoY. 5G, gigabit and IoT user bases expanded and mobile
internet access traffic maintained rapid growth. As of end-September, the three
basic telecom operators had 709 mln fixed broadband subscribers, a net increase
of 18.25 mln since end-2025. Subscribers at 100 Mbps+ reached 678 mln (95.6% of
total). 1,000 Mbps+ subscribers totaled 265 mln, net adds 26.45 mln,
representing 37.4% of users, up 2.9 percentage points from end-2025.
