China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in its Q3
telecom-sector report that at end-September the three major telecom operators
had 3.117 bln mobile IoT terminal users, a net increase of 229 mln versus
end-2025. IPTV/OTT users were 407 mln, down 1.03 mln. Combined mobile phone
subscribers for the three operators and China Broadcasting Network totaled 1.854
bln, a net gain of 26.7 mln; 5G mobile-phone users reached 1.32 bln, up 116 mln,
representing 71.2% of mobile subscribers. 5G base stations numbered 5.254 mln,
up 416,000 from end-2025, accounting for 40% of mobile base stations, an
increase of 2.4 percentage points.
