CENTCOM said Iranian-controlled media reports in recent days and weeks that
merchant vessels struck mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz are false.
The U.S. military has cleared all internationally recognized primary transit
lanes in the Strait of Hormuz and will keep them mine-free; thousands of
merchant vessels have used those lanes safely and continue to do so.
