The People's Bank of China and the Central Bank of Chile recently renewed a
bilateral local-currency swap agreement for five years, keeping the size
unchanged at 50 bln yuan / 6 tln Chilean pesos. The line is intended to deepen
monetary and financial cooperation and provide a liquidity backstop to support
bilateral trade and investment.
