Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of Poland’s largest opposition party, said he could
initiate talks to leave the EU as leverage to force institutional changes in
Brussels, blaming the European Commission’s centralized decision-making for
Europe’s weak growth versus the US. He said November’s Spanish election and next
year’s French and Polish votes create a window to push power away from EU-level
institutions. Polls indicate Kaczynski could return to government if he unites
disparate right-wing parties, some of which have previously backed an EU exit.
