Jan‑Sep 2026 customs‑supervised food trade totaled 1.46 trn yuan, up 4.1% YoY; imports 1.04 trn yuan (+4.7% YoY), exports 420 bln yuan (+2.4% YoY). Chinese authorities have registered 99,000 overseas food exporters from 182 countries, filed 49,000 domestic food exporters and 29,000 raw‑material farms, and placed 7,070 port food producers/operators under graded quantitative controls. Enforcement Jan‑Sep: 4,498 batches of non‑compliant imports returned or destroyed; 112 food‑safety administrative penalty cases closed, case value 73.91 mln yuan; 644 tax‑related food smuggling criminal cases investigated, case value over 5.74 bln yuan.
