In Asian trade on Friday, USD/IDR reversed a three-day decline, trading near
18,180. Persistent foreign capital outflow risk is weighing on the rupiah and
investor sentiment; the Jakarta Composite Index fell 1.29% to about 5,030,
dragged by weaker US futures after Alphabet plunged overnight and renewed
concerns over AI investment returns. Bank Indonesia said it will actively
intervene in the spot FX market, in NDF and DNDF markets, and make targeted
secondary-market purchases of government bonds to stabilize the currency.
