Oct. 21, 2026 — The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology
(CAICT), China Telecom, China Mobile, Shanghai Unicom, the Shanghai Institute of
Optics and Fine Mechanics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Huixin Tiankong and
LvSuan Technology launched a storage-direction Lead Goose plan under the
'Compute Capacity Strengthening Revealing Action'. The industry-led program
targets storage technology shortfalls for AI business scenarios and sets a
three-stage implementation path: first, a pilot R&D stage in which shortlisted
entrants refine technical proposals to close storage gaps for AI workloads;
second, a demonstration stage to create storage benchmarks for typical business
scenarios, conduct prototype verification and field pilots, and produce
replicable turnkey solutions; third, a full rollout stage to deepen
industry–academia–research–application collaboration, establish standard test
systems, consolidate pilot experience and advance key technologies toward scaled
commercialization.
