The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Livestock and Veterinary Bureau
held a 2026 livestock production situation meeting in Rongchang District,
Chongqing on Oct. 29–30. The ministry said it will establish routine
data‑verification mechanisms, strengthen multi‑department situation
consultations and cross‑source data comparison and analysis. Using
livestock/veterinary production‑operation entity codes as the linkage, it will
progressively integrate full industry‑chain business‑flow data and promote
cross‑departmental and cross‑level data interoperability. The ministry will
guide farms to set scientific production plans, enforce data‑reporting
obligations and implement requirements for normalized, precise regulation of hog
production capacity. It also issued clear requirements to strengthen livestock production
disaster prevention, mitigation and relief capabilities in response to an
exceptionally strong El Niño.
