The People’s Bank of China, at a party committee meeting chaired by Governor Pan Gongsheng, said it will maintain a moderately accomodative monetary stance and use a range of policy tools to keep liquidity ample. It called for faster development of a multi-tier modern financial market and stronger alignment of finance with the real economy to support economic restructuring and shifts in growth drivers, while effectively preventing and resolving financial risks in key sectors. The PBOC also urged deeper financial opening, measures to promote RMB internationalization and accelerated construction of a multi-channel, broad-coverage RMB cross-border payments system, and said it will firmly safeguard national financial security.
