Chinese President Xi met German President Steinmeier in Beijing on Oct. 30. Xi
said China will press ahead with high-level opening and continue to improve its
business environment, welcoming German and other foreign firms to deepen
operations in China and share the benefits of its large market. He urged Germany
to remain open and provide a fair, transparent, non-discriminatory business
environment for Chinese companies operating in Germany and called for expanded,
stronger pragmatic bilateral cooperation. China said it is willing to cooperate
with Germany on artificial intelligence, green/low‑carbon technologies, services
trade and the digital economy to jointly boost future competitiveness.
