The 10th China-Germany Auto Conference took place in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, on the 30th, attended by about 600 corporate, government and research representatives. Lower Saxony governor Olaf Lies said holding the event in Wolfsburg signaled deeper China-Germany collaboration in the auto sector. Liu Minqiang, director of MOFCOM’s investment promotion bureau, said the global auto industry is in a critical transformation window—rapid technology iteration and accelerated market restructuring are creating large opportunities as well as transition pains and market pressure—and urged both sides to focus on upgrading technology, products and services to capture new development opportunities.
