Russian Defense Ministry said on Oct. 31 its forces carried out 148 strikes in the previous 24 hours against Ukrainian transport infrastructure, storage and launch sites for drones and unmanned ground vehicles, ammunition depots, and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries. The ministry said Russian air defenses shot down 604 fixed‑wing drones and reported Ukrainian losses of about 1,220. It also said Russian drones hit a Kyiv‑area thermal power plant serving a military logistics facility and equipment storage, multiple workshops producing Ukrainian weapon components, and a dry‑cargo ship supplying Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian Air Force said Russian forces launched 134 drones from Oct. 30 18:00 to Oct. 31 08:30 and that Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 105; it said Ukrainian missile and artillery units struck one Russian command post and three drone control points and put Russian casualties at about 1,670.
