China Merchants Energy Shipping said the naming ceremony for the first-of-class
LNG carrier for the QatarEnergy Phase II project, LEKHRAIB, was held Oct. 28-29
on Geoje Island and in Busan. LEKHRAIB is the first of six 174,000-cbm LNG
carriers ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries under the Phase II program and
is the first joint project between China Merchants and Samsung Heavy. After
delivery the vessel will provide long-term LNG transport services to
QatarEnergy.
