Dockworkers staged strikes on Oct. 30 across multiple countries to protest weapons shipments through ports and to call for an end to wars in the Middle East, multiple media outlets reported. In May the World Federation of Trade Unions said dock unions from more than 35 European and Mediterranean ports met in Istanbul, calling for an end to what they described as genocide against Palestinians, cessation of Middle East wars and a halt to militarization of critical infrastructure including ports.
