According to the Wall Street Journal, a senior White House official said Trump
plans to deliver a Monday speech at the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool as a
midterm closing address, promoting repair and renovation projects in Washington.
The official said the remarks will emphasize the agenda of his administration and
House Republicans have advanced since the start of a second term. Trump is due
in Iowa and Kansas the day before. Restoring the reflecting pool is a stated
priority in a broader Washington makeover that also includes a proposed new
White House banquet hall.
