At a press briefing on the 2nd, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period China will prioritize digital/intelligent archaeology and multidisciplinary collaboration with natural and social sciences, strengthen archaeological science laboratories, and accelerate R&D and application of key archaeological technologies. The plan also calls for building key archaeology institutions, implementing a national archaeology talent revitalization program, supporting university field-training bases, promoting industry‑academia‑research joint training, and cultivating frontier interdisciplinary disciplines to improve the archaeology discipline development framework.
