Several broad-market China ETFs recorded sharp intraday volume and price increases. Hua Xia Sci‑Tech Innovation 50 ETF (588000) logged half‑day turnover above 10.0 bln yuan and was up 2.44% intraday. Huatai‑PineBridge CSI 300 ETF (510300) turned over 8.7 bln yuan, exceeding last Friday’s full‑day volume, and was up 1.08%. China Southern CSI 500 ETF (510500) turnover topped 6.3 bln yuan, more than 60% above last Friday, and was up 2.49%. China Southern CSI 1000 ETF (512100) turnover exceeded 6.6 bln yuan, over 50% higher than last Friday, and was up 2.67%.

Nomura says Bank of Japan governor Ueda has signaled a hawkish tilt and a December move to a 1.5% policy rate is increasingly likely. BOJ staff estimate nominal neutral rate at 1.1%–2.5%, but that unobservable range leaves the terminal rate ambiguous. Inflation has stayed above the 2% target and corporate capex remains firm, prompting faster policy normalization, yet long-running deflation and prolonged ultra-low rates make households and firms more sensitive to higher borrowing costs. Dissent persists inside the BOJ, with some hawks pressing for a quicker pace. Nomura expects the policy rate may be raised to about 1.75% by around March before a pause, but the subsequent path is uncertain.
