The China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute said in
a report released at the 2026 New Domain New Quality Innovation Competition that
China's AI inference data volume has for the first time exceeded training data,
marking a shift from model-training R&D to scaled industrial application. As of
June 2026, daily token calls exceeded 175 trillion, up more than 1,000x versus
early 2024. Iteration cycles for leading large models have shortened from
several months to weeks or even days.
