According to a report by Al Arabiya, cited by the Ylna News Agency, Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdel Aguirre emphasized that the Egyptian parliament's authorization for President Sisi to take necessary measures to support Saudi Arabia does not mean that Egypt will send troops to Yemen. In an interview with Egyptian media, Abdel Aguirre stated that Cairo is working to create conditions for de-escalating the situation in Yemen and restoring previous understandings. He expressed hope that rationality would guide developments in the coming days and that negotiations would resume. The Egyptian Foreign Minister also stated that Egypt has increased its contact with Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United States to prevent an escalation of military tensions. According to Abdel Aguirre, Cairo is also coordinating diplomatic efforts with Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Turkey, and Pakistan to ease regional tensions. Last Monday, the Egyptian parliament, in a closed session, authorized President Sisi to take necessary measures to support and defend Saudi Arabia.
