China's maternity insurance fund paid 101.0 bln yuan in the first nine months,
covering 33.55 mln claims, the National Healthcare Security Administration said.
Maternity allowances totaled 78.16 bln yuan and have been paid directly to
individuals. National maternity insurance participation reached 260 mln.
Twenty-three provinces (216 pooling areas) have extended coverage to
flexible/self-employed workers. Thirty-one provinces (322 pooling areas) have
implemented zero out-of-pocket policy for in-hospital deliveries within policy
scope. All provinces include assisted reproductive technology in payment scope
and have reimbursed labor analgesia under medical insurance.
