Gongbei Customs data show that since the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge Zhuhai
highway port opened in October 2018, cumulative import-export value with APEC
economies through the port reached 1.09 tln yuan through September. In the first
three quarters of this year, trade with APEC totaled 226.33 bln yuan, up 52.8%
YoY, accounting for 73.4% of the port’s total trade and expanding 18.1
percentage points faster than the port overall. Monthly average trade with APEC
rose to 24.42 bln yuan this year from 2.52 bln yuan in the bridge’s opening
year.
